IMSA executive search conference in Stavager, Norway
IMSA offices attend an International Executive Search conference at six monthly intervals to discuss internal recruitment projects, meet with representatives from other offices worldwide, and share best practice. The Spring 2011 conference has now been held in Stavanger.
A key feature of IMSA is the professionalism and trust between our offices worldwide, working together to satisfy the needs of our international clients. This empathy and trust is reinforced by representatives of all offices meeting together, and also developing a good social spirit.
At the October 2010 conference, information was exchanged about many international projects – see Case Studies for many recent examples.
The President and Board were re-elected.
Our Norwegian hosts, A'Head, organised an excellent and memorable programme.
The conference was held in the Rosenkilde House, close to the beautiful harbour and Old Stavanger areas. Conference was welcomed by the Mayor of Stavanger, Leif Johan Sevland, who outlined how this small town, once the poorest in Norway, has become Norway's most international as the centre of Norway's thriving Oil & Gas industry, now having grown to a population of over 300,000 people in the local region, with 20% of residents from overseas.
The first evening included a guided tour of the Norwegian Petroleum Museum which served to emphasise the courage and skills of the pioneers who developed the North Sea Oil industry.
The second day included a presentation from a major Oil company involved in the development of the Goliath Oil & Gas field in the harsh environment of the Barents Sea.
A visit to the dramatic Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock, including some delegates taking a memorable helicopter ride, rounded off a spectacular event.
We look forward to the Autumn conference to be held in Mumbai, India.
